My first crush was a beauty named Janice. She was in a band, had glistening blonde hair, full lips, a valley girl affect. She also had no eyes. Cause she was a muppet. And I was 2. But what we had was real, and I won't hear otherwise.
The Muppets were a huge influence on me. I'm an 80's kid; my first home movies are of me giddily watching the Muppet Show. I had an Electric Mayhem lunchbox. As a screenwriter, my work, especially the early stuff, had more than a touch of Henson. Colorful ensembles full of quirky, put-upon characters juggling plates.
For my wedding, I commissioned an artist to do a piece portraying my wife and I as Fraggles (displayed during our cake cutting).
So it is that the first edition of FanVision, a newsletter about web3 domains and digital identity, centers on a topic dear to my own heart. After all, what differentiates web3 domains is their very individualized, very personal, often sentimental nature. These domains derive value from meaning, worn proudly like a coat of arms in the digital square.
*If you're new to all things ENS (Ethereum Name Service), don't yet have a digital wallet, and wanna know more, I'll drop some helpful links at the end.

The Muppets are one of the most recognizable IPs in the world. Wholesome, charming, relentlessly memed. The Muppet Show and Muppet Movie are all-time classics, setting a bar for family fare only matched by Pixar.
Acquired by Disney in 2004 for $75 mil (free), the Muppets have since done two movies, three tv series, specials, added theme park attractions and licensing deals, and continue to sell hundreds of millions worth of merch a year.
But the truth is, like Peanuts, Muppets are more nostalgic than of the now. Timeless, but not necessarily timely. The peak of their popularity was the late '70s into the early '80s, when the Muppet Show (1976-81) was broadcast all over the world.
Given the median age in web3 is 8 years old (via Dune analytics) Gen Z degens don't have the same relationship with the Muppets as Gen X and Millenials do. It's cooler to have "Dingus69420" as a handle on X than "MissPiggy.eth." Tragic really.
What young ones fail to realize is web3's amphibious muse Pepe owes much to his spiritual ancestor Kermit the Frog. Put some respect on a puppet's name.

In my personal bag, Muppets.eth is one of the crown jewels of my collection. My art wallet is ElectricMayhem.eth. FraggleRock.eth is in a wallet I control. So I'm invested in this category for sure.
In ENS, we haven't really seen a big Muppet sale. And compared to other fandom categories, there are actually very few pre-punk names (Note: Pre-Punk are ENS names registered before Crypto Punks were minted in June 2017)
FanVision has a proprietary rating system using the π· (a nod to the Careless Whisper sax solo). Scores range from 1-5, one being "wen burn wallet?" to five "absolute banger don't @ me"
Muppet.eth π·π·π·π· As far as handles, this one rips. And what an avatar.
Muppets.eth π·π·π·

Kermit.eth π·π·π·π· - I mean, come on. Legend.
Kermitthefrog.eth π·π· A great alt to Kermit.
Misspiggy.eth π·π·π· Another hit from OG collector Majoby.eth. Good luck trying to pry this one away.
Fozzie.eth π·π· A struggling comic, and most loyal of friends.
Fozziebear.eth π·π· A nice alt to Fozzie.
Animal.eth π·π·π·π· Arguably the best pure domain in the category. IMHO the 3rd best muppet (after Kermit and Miss Piggy) and of course an entire biological kingdom. A mere 8 billion Google results.

Statler.eth π·π· Statler and his buddy Waldorf are the two most cynical a-holes in the annals of TV. The world is full of hecklers and FUDers - best to learn young!
Waldorf.eth π·π·
Swedishchef.eth π·π· BΓΈrk! BΓΈrk! BΓΈrk!
Gonzo.eth π·π·π·- Muppets resident performance artist, and a celebrated journalistic movement.
Rowlf.eth π·π·
Electricmayhem.eth π·π·π· Spin "Can You Picture That" while reading on.

MuppetShow.eth π·π·π·

Pepethekingprawn.eth π·π·- A fringe muppet took on new life in memes. Shares a name with a certain someone we know.
Rizzo.eth π·π· The wisecracking rat. Most memorable in Muppets Xmas Carol. Also a great surname.
Sweetums.eth π·π· His popularity far exceeds his screen time.
Bunsen.eth/ Bunsenhoneydew.eth (Avail) π·π·
Beaker.eth π·π· - Also a fun science domain.
Janice.eth π·π·π· - I don't have the heart to tell her I'm married.
Zoot.ethπ·π·
Floyd.eth π·π·π·
Scooter.eth π·π·π· Loveable stage manager. I always wanted his shiny green jacket.
Camilla.eth π·π·π· Gonzo's soulmate, great first name.
Beauregard.eth π·π· The dim-witted janitor.
Crazyharry.eth π·π· - Pyrotechnics maniac, and a sweet handle if your names Harry.
MuppetBabies.eth - You're telling me you don't hear this theme song in your head 3x/week?
Fraggles.ethΒ - A cult following almost as rabid as the Muppets. They likely live in my floor boards.
SamtheEagle.eth - A true patriot.
UncleDeadly.eth - Resurfaced on the most recent Muppet series.
PigsInSpace.eth - One of the great Muppet Show sketches. Had to include.
